Puerto Rican trap artist Kevin Fret who was openly gay, shot and killed at 24

An openly gay trap artist from Puerto Rico has been killed.

Kevin Fret, was killed while riding his motorcycle in Santurce, Puerto Rico. According to news outlets, Fret was shot once in his head and in his hip at around 5:30 a.m.. He was to a taken to a hospital where he he died.

Fret was known for his huge following on Instagram, along with his very outgoing personality. he was a gay young man and didn’t apologize for it. In April, Paper Magazine called Mr.Fret “Latin Trap’s first openly gay pioneer.” He then released his single  ‘Soy Asi’, which has over a million views.

The police in Puerto Rico haven’t identified him as the man who was shot and killed, but his manager has confirmed it.

In an official press statement, Fret’s manager, Eduardo Rodriguez stated: “Kevin was an artistic soul, a big-hearted dreamer. His passion was music, and still had a lot to do. This violence must stop. There are no words that describe the feeling we have and the pain that causes us to know that a person with so many dreams has to go. We must all unite in these difficult times, and ask for much peace for our beloved Puerto Rico.”
