NYPD commander under investigation for allegedly threatening rapper 50 Cent’s life; 50 says he didn’t even know

According to The Daily News, Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez, who’s the commanding officer at the 72nd precinct in Brooklyn, allegedly told his officers at a roll call on June. 7 to “shoot him on sight”, if that they saw 50 Cent at a sanctioned boxing match that was taking place in the Bronx.

A source told The Daily News, “The inspector just said that at roll call.” I’m like WTF.”

Other officers took what Gonzalez said as a joke and never reported it. A month before this, 50 Cent was upset over a Gentlemen’s club in New York City being reportedly shut down and spoke about Gonzalez allegedly threatening the owner. 50 would put post up and hashtag #getthestrap.

The commander then filed an aggravated harassment complaint saying that 50 was threatening him on Instagram, along with his 18 million followers.

A month before the roll call, Gonzalez filed an aggravated harassment complaint, claiming 50 Cent threatened him on Instagram.

As for 50 Cent, he took to Instagram after seeing the story and wrote, “I take this threat very seriously and im consulting with my legal counsel regarding my options moving forward. I am concerned that I was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD. #NYnotSafe#TheGangstagotabadge

The rapper also poked fun at the commander with a caption that read on another post, ‘This is Emanuel Gonzalez commanding officer of the 72percinct. He think he got beef with me,so he sending the Homies to put some work in. NYNOTSAFE #thegangstagotabadge

Gonzalez is still actively on duty, but is under investigation. That has been confirmed by a department spokesperson. He will also be celebrating 30 years on the job..
