Chicago has had its first warm weekend, and with that, came blood shed.
According to Chicago police, there have already been 25 shootings and 5 murders. Two of these shootings victims were children, after a man walked into what police believe was a baby shower and began shooting up the place.
Those children are in stable condition.
Around this time last year, there were 18 shootings and four murders, according to police spokesperson Michael Carroll .
Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot told CNN “We’re going to be heading soon into the summer violence season.”
