ALBANY, Georgia- A man has been arrested for raping and beating his 3-year-old step-daughter. The toddlers mother has been arrested as well.
Police received a dispatch to a home on May 14th about an unresponsive toddler. Janiyah was rushed to a nearby hospital, and upon an examination, police say it was founded that she was savagely beaten and raped.
Janiyah died from her injuries on May 18th.
The toddler had injuries to her vagina, swollen hands, ribs and head trauma. On top of that, she also had older wounds.
Police arrested Gregory Parker, charging him with rape, aggravated molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated battery and first-degree cruelty to children.
The mother, 19-year-old Crystal Brooks was arrested for battery, aggravated battery, cruelty to children and giving a false statement. Police say that she knew her daughter was being abused and obviously didn’t make it stop.
