BRONX, N.Y.- A mother has been charged with the murder of her baby after authorities say the 18-month-old died from numerous drugs in his system.
According to the New York Post, Daira Santana-Gonzalez, 23, was charged on Friday with the murder of after her son who died from a fatal mix of drugs in his system.
18-month-old Darwin Gonzalez-Santana was rushed to a nearby hospital on Dec 27th after police responded to call about an unconscious baby on University Ave, but unfortunately he couldn’t be saved and died.
The medical examiner found a deadly mix of “acute fentanyl, heroin, dextromethorphan, acetylfentanyl and chlorpheniramine intoxication.”
His death was ruled a homicide in March.
Santana was already in jail since January on drug charges.
Authorities are also looking for two other suspects, including the toddlers father who they believe fled to the Dominican Republic.
