A mother has been arrested for allegedly killing her 8-year-old son and blaming it on demons, according to her family.
Police received a call about a person who was unconscious on Sunday at around 7:26 a.m. according to NBC 5 Dallas.
When they got to the home, police found an 8-year-old boy who was dead.
He was later identified as Jovani’s Delapene, 30-year-old Tisha Sanchez’s son.
She was then arrested and charged with capital murder.
Authorities are still investigating as what the motive was that drove Sanchez to kill her son, but according to her family, she said it was demons.
Sanchez’s family member told NBC that she had told her “demons told her to sacrifice her son” and that the family member needed to forgive her.
It’s believed that she suffocated her son with a pillow, but an official report from the medical examiner’s office hasn’t been released.
