Attorney says Tekashi staged his kidnapping to get publicity for his album

Anthony Ellison’s attorney Devereaux Cannick says Brooklyn rapper Tekashi69 staged his own kidnapping to hype his new album.

Cannick told a Manhattan federal court “No robbery or kidnapping or assault happened, adding “He was about to drop another album…gotta get that buzz up. That’s how he makes money.”

He also told the court that the vehicle Tekashi was allegedly kidnapped in was used by the FEDS. He also tried to point out that Tekashi was fine days later on Instagram after being allegedly attacked.

Ellison is due back to court on Sept 16th.

He’s being accused of kidnapping Tekashi, along with another alleged Nine Trey Gangsta Blood member Aljermiah Mack.

Tekashi69, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez has pleaded guilty to racketeering charges will be testifying against both of the men.

Ellison has pleaded not guilty.

If Ellison and Mack are found guilty of these charges, they could face life in prison.
