Elton John helped Eminem get sober after nearly dying from an overdose; biography

Elton John played a huge role in rapper Eminem quitting drugs according to a new biography about the Detroit rapper.

According to The Daily Mail, who obtained a copy of the biography titled ‘Not Afraid: The Evolution of Eminem’ by Anthony Bozza, Elton John came in the Grammy award winning rapper’s life after he was abusing drugs and was even rushed to the Hospital after overdosing.

In the biography, it tells of the time that the rapper was rushed to a Hospital in 2017 after consuming so many drugs, that it was equivalent to “four bags of heroin.”

After the rapper woke up in the ICU, he was told that he was just 2 hours away from dying.

“My organs were shutting down, my liver, kidneys… They were going to have to put me on dialysis. They didn’t think I was going to make it. My bottom was going to be death,” Eminem said.

It was then that Elton John came into Eminem’s life, whose real name is Marshal Mathers, as a sober sponsor.

Elton had struggled with sobriety himself.

Bozza wrote “As a fellow musical superstar with nearly 30 years of sobriety under his belt, Elton John was the perfect mentor to help guide Marshall.” “The two started on a program of weekly check-ins and grew very close.”

Crazy how at one point, Eminem was called a homophobic when rapping about Elton on one of his songs, and it was him who helped save his life…

I can’t wait for this biography to come out.
