NORTH CAROLINA- Two employees from the restaurant Cook Out have been fired after refusing to serve a police sergeant.
A cashier and a manager were booted from their job after one of them refused to take Kenneth Horton’s order last week according to ABC 11.
The manager, who would like to remain anonymous, says she was for not being “more attentive” to the officer after a cashier refused to take his order.
She also added “[The district manager] told me that I should have went outside and got the officer’s attention and offered to take his order.”
The reason behind the cashier refusing to take the officer’s order is unknown, but she did tell another employee to take his order instead.
According to the Roxboro Police Chief, David Hess told ABC 11 that nobody in his department called corporate to have the manager and cashier fired..
