NEW MEXICO- A man thought he got lucky when he attempted to steal a 2006 Toyota Corolla, found the owners boyfriend sleeping in the back instead.
Joseph Allen, 40, was arrested and is facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and auto burglary.
The victim says that he dropped his girlfriend off at work, and instead of going home, he decided to take a nap inside of the vehicle when he was awoken by a man driving his girlfriends car according to Las Cruces Sun-News and police.
The victim, whose real name is Ignacio Baca, says that he asked Allen who he he was, and then began choking and punching him. Allen also slashed Baca by his ribs, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
The men were fighting as the car was in motion..
