CHICAGO- 20-year-old Aleah Newell was charged on Saturday with the murders of her two sons.
Newall was charged while in critical condition at a Hospital.
Police say that Newell got into an argument with her grandfather Cordell Walker, stabbing him 10 times and then turning her anger on her children, ages 7 months and 2-years-old.
Police say that after stabbing her grandfather, Newell then killed her 7-month-old son Ameer by stabbing him 19 times. Police found him dead inside of a bathtub with water so scalding that his skin was peeling off.
Newell then threw her 2-year-old son Johntavis out of their 11th story window, and then jumped out of the same window. She crashed through a window washer scaffold and then hit the concrete.
Her son Johntavis was found by police in front of the building, bleeding from his mouth and attempting to talk. Both children were taken to the Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Newell had allegedly told one of friends that “she couldn’t take care of her kids.” She lived in a homeless shelter with her children..
