Judge orders Google to release data in Jussie Smollett case going back a year

CHICAGO- A judge has granted two warrants that are going to Google so that a special prosecutor can check data going back one year to see if Smollett and his manger orchestrated his fake attack.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the data will include emails, test messages from Smollett’s manager, photos, deleted messages, any files inside of their Google Drive storage services, contacts and browsing history from November 22018 to November 2019.

Jussie Smollett made headlines when the ‘Empire’ star said that he was beaten by two white homophobic males, who were wearing MAGA hats. The actor said the men poured bleach on him, while calling him homophobic slurs and poured bleach on him as he was exiting a Subway restaurant.

It was later discovered that the actor had paid two brothers just $3,500 to stage the attack because he was upset over his pay at Empire on Fox.

Smollet was charged with in Feb. with 16 counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly putting together the fake attack BUT, the charges were then dropped by the State’s Attorney, Kim Foxx.

That upset many people, who felt as if there was some sort of corruption (like myself) and now the case is being investigated again by different people.
