Kobe Bryant’s helicopter didn’t have this device; it would have saved all 9 victims

CALABASAS- It was revealed during a press conference that Kobe Bryant’s private helicopter wasn’t equipped with a device that would have warned the pilot.

During Tuesday’s conference, NTSB investigator Jennifer Homendy said that the helicopter should have been equipped with a terrain alarm system that would have warned the pilot that he was approaching a hillside.

Investigator Homendy said that her company had told the Federal Aviation Administration 16 years ago to make it mandatory that helicopters with more than 6 passengers carry the terrain device.

The FAA never approved of the proposal. ..

So far, what investigators know now of the deadly helicopter crash is that the pilot lost control at 2,300 feet, descending at about 2000 miles per minute.

The weather that day was extremely foggy, and police helicopters were even called off from flying that day.

The helicopter crash killed the pilot, Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, a baseball coach, two mothers and their teenage daughters..
