FLORIDA- A family is devastated even more after they say a funeral home let their 11-year-old daughter’s body to rot before her memorial.
According to WBTV, Re’Asia Washington’s family claims that the Shawn Johnson Funeral and Cremation didn’t embalm their daughter, or even refrigerate her body, to the point where she was severely decomposed and unrecognizable.
The girls mother, Ebony Morgan told WBTV “My daughter was deteriorated beyond recognition, her skin has come off her body.”
11-year-old Re’Asia Washington died while he was volunteering at a Martin Luther King Jr. block party in Georgia. The family hired the funeral home to bring her body back home to Florida.
The 5th grader suffered a fatal asthma attack on Jan. 22, during her family vacation..
The family is planning on suing the funeral home.
