YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen to have bail hearings

FLORIDA- Rapper YNW Melly and YNW Borton will have their bail hearings coming up, and they may be released sooner than you thought.

YNW Bortlen, whose real name is Cortlen Henry could be leaving jail as soon as this month. He’s currently served a year so far without bail after being charged with first-degree murder and accessory after the fact for his alleged part in the deaths of his two friends.

Authorities believe that Henry helped rapper YNW Melly cover up the killings of their two friends, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser, who were killed on Oct. 26, 2018 in a drive-by and there hasn’t been enough evidence to prove a motive or what prosecutors claim.

The judge recently ruled that the evidence presented to him by the prosecutors wasn’t enough to have Henry qualify for the two counts of first-degree murder charges brought to him by state’s attorney.

Judge Siegel wrote in a Feb. 10 court order, “The State of Florida has not met its burden of proof based upon all of the evidence presented at the hearing and the documents and other information submitted to the court as to the charge of first-degree murder … charged in the indictment.”

The judge has seen phone records, video surveillance, evidence from the crime scene and more.

Henry’s bail hearing is set to take place next week.

Rapper YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, was charged with first-degree murder and has a status hearing on March 12th.
