THE BRONX, N.Y.C. – A group of teens have been arrested after they beat a woman up on a bus for allegedly having the Coronavirus.
Police say that video from the bus in Highbridge shows a young girl hitting the 51-year-old woman with an umbrella and then the group began to use racial slurs, telling the victim “You caused coronavirus.”
The attack, which is being investigated as a hate crime, happened on March 28 around 3 p.m., cops said.
3 15-year-old’s have been arrested. They were arrested right after the attack happened. The third suspect is the one who allegedly hit the elderly woman over her head with the umbrella.
All of the 3 teens arrested were also charged with assault as a hate crime, harassment and menacing.
