(Update)
Missing teenager Dystnee Avery’s friend has admitted to murdering her after police arrested him on suspicion.
27-year-old Ethan Broad, who Avery was living with, has had his charges upgraded to second-degree murder after admitting to police that he killed Avery.
According to Inforum, Broad told police that he killed Avery “in his apartment and used several saws to cut up her body in his garage.”
Broad also told police that after killing her, he put her remains in garbage bags and then dumped them near his apartment, but police haven’t found Avery’s remains.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by the Star Tribune, authorities searched Broad’s home after his interview and found a bloodied saw with traces of human remains, along with a blue bin that had a “large amount of blood inside.”
Avery was staying with Broad. She had told her sister that she was pregnant by her boyfriend.
