ATLANTA (WSB-TV)- A man has been arrested and charged with murder after killing his step-son during an argument about being quarantined.
42-year-old Bernie Hargrove was arrested on Wednesday after police say that he killed his 16-year-old step-son, De’onte Roberts, after he refused to stay home amid Atlanta’s stay-at-home order.
Roberts’ mother told police that she and Hargrove had got into an argument with her son after he went against his parents “orders to remain in the home.”
The victim left, came back home, kicked his house door in and that’s when he got into a physical altercation with Hargrove. He allegedly punched his step-father in the face, and Hargrove shot him several times, including his chest.
Roberts’ was later pronounced dead at a near-by Hospital.
Hargrove has been charged with felony murder.
