ATLANTA- Rayshard Brooks, who was shot and killed by police, participated in an interview in which he spoke about injustice, making mistakes and more.
Brooks had responded to an ad on Craigslist in Feb. from a company called Reconnect, that was focusing on fighting incarceration and people who wanted to share their personal stories.
In the the 40-minute video, Brooks tells the interviewer, political commentator Van Jones, “We do have lives, you know, was just a mistake we made, you know, and, you know, not, not just do us, as if we are animals, adding “You know, lock us away.”
Brooks speaks about spending 23 hours in a cell really “messed” with his mind, and more.
Rayshard Brooks was shot and killed, as he was unarmed and seen on police cam running away from officers with a stolen taser in his hand.
Ex-officer Garrett Rolfe, who shot and killed Brooks, was charged with felony murder on Wed.
His partner is planning on testifying against him.
