Actor Alec Baldwin To Be Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter In The Fatal Shooting On ‘Rust’ Set

Actor Alec Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the movie set of “Rust”, prosecutors said Thursday.

Baldwin and the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was in charge of weapons on the set, will each face two counts of involuntary manslaughter, according to reports.

The first assistant director, David Halls, has agreed to plead guilty to the negligent use of a deadly weapon, according to the New Mexico D.A.’s office.

Hutchins was fatally shot during the filming of “Rust” in New Mexico on Oct. 21, 2021.

Baldwin was rehearsing with a pistol for a scene inside of a church when the gun went off, striking and killing her. The director, Joel Souza, was also wounded, but survived.

Charges against the rapper will be filed at the end of this month.

Baldwin maintains his innocence, insisting that he accidentally shot Hutchins.
