CALIFORNIA- Airbnb is suing a person who held an unauthorized party that left 1 person wounded and 1 dead.
According to Airbnb, the party, which was held on August 7, had about 200 guests, mostly teens. It was even promoted on social media.
Police were called to the property after a report of a shooting.
When they arrived at the residence, they found 18-year-old Elias Elhania shot to death and a second victim who was taken to a Hospital to undergo surgery. That victim is expected to survive.
Airbnb said it notified the guest on Monday of their intent to pursue legal action, stating the guest violated the company’s Community Standards and Terms of Service. They claim the guest booked the listing under false pretenses, reports PEOPLE.
The unidentified guest is also banned from Airbnb.
People who rent properties through Airbnb are not allowed to host parties or other events.
