Arrest Warrant Issued For “Femicide” In The Death Of Shanquella Robinson

MEXICO- A Mexican prosecutor has announced that authorities have issued an arrest warrant for an unidentified suspect in the death of Shanquella Robinson.

The warrant was issued Wednesday by Mexican law enforcement, and the FBI is reportedly conducting their own investigation into Johnson’s death, according to ABC News.

The suspect hasn’t been named, but it is a friend of Johnson, according to Mexican authorities.

Baja California Sur prosecutor Daniel de La Rosa Anaya said, “This case of fully clarified, we even have a court order, there is an arrest warrant issued for the crime of femicide to the detriment of the victim and against an alleged perpetrator, a friend of her who is the direct aggressor,” reports ABC News.

Robinson, 25, was found dead in the city of San Jose del Cabo on Oct. 29 after traveling to a resort with six of her friends the day before.

Mexican authorities said her cause of death was a severe spinal cord injury and a homicide investigation was launched, WBTV reported.

Robinson’s friends had initially told her family that she died from alcohol poisoning.

A video then surfaced, showing a woman beating Robinson, as she was naked inside a hotel room. Robinson can be seen on the floor being attacked by a unknown woman as a man can be heard in the background telling Robinson to fight back.

This video raised many questions and showed that Robinson’s death may have involved foul play.
