CHICAGO- The artist behind rapper King Von’s mural has spoken out after Chicago police want the mural taken down.
Delilah Martinez posted an update on the possible removal of the mural.
Martinez says she attended a meeting on Tuesday that included city officials, police, community leaders and residents. Martinez objected to taking the mural down.
At the end of the meeting, a decision was made to leave up to the people of Chicago & his former neighborhood to decide if the mural should stay up by texting “Yes” or “No” to 312-981-9901. Must be a Chicago resident*
There is also an online petition.
Watch Martinez speak on attending the meeting below:
King Von was shot and killed in Nov.
It’s unbelievable, that with the murder rate in Chicago, police are going after a late rapper’s mural..
