One of the many lawsuits against rapper Travis Scott and Live Nation has been settled after the family of a 21-year-old man died last year at the Astroworld music festival, according to the family’s attorney.
The family attorney, Tony Buzbee, filed a lawsuit in Nov. against the rapper for more than $750 million on behalf of at least 125 families, including Axel Acosta, reports NBC.
Acosta’s family reached a confidential settlement.
Acosta was “crushed” to death at the music festival on November 5, 2021, when a crowd of about 50,000 people began pushing and rushing towards the stage.
Acosta went into cardiac arrest before he was trampled, the suit claimed. His cause of death was ruled as compression asphyxia.
The suit also claims that Travis performed for “almost 40 minutes” as Acosta was on the ground.
Scott has a history of encouraging violence at his shows and concerts.
