ATLANTA- A police officer has been put on desk duty after body-slamming a protester, which was caught on cellphone footage.
According to 11Alive, the officer, whose identity is being disclosed, is under investigation after body-slamming Amber Jackson, 24, who says she suffered a broken shoulder and clavicle.
The incident took place on May 29th, when cellphone footage from a bystander shows Jackson, who was in Buckhead to protest for George Floyd, was taken out of her car by the unnamed officer.
Jackson was yanked from her car and thrown to the concrete.
Police are saying that Jackson allegedly ignored their orders for her to exit her car. She was cited for disorderly conduct and wasn’t arrested.
Jackson has hired an attorney, and are asking that the officer who used excessive force on her be fired, and for Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields to resign.
