HOUTON- Disturbing video shows an 11-year-old autistic boy being beaten by other students as school staff stood by and didn’t intervene.
The video, obtained by KHOU, shows the boy getting thrown to the floor by another special needs student, after he bumped into him at a line at the Jones Middle School in Humble, Texas.
The victim, identified as Sekai, attempts to get up when the larger student is seen punching him to the floor again and repeatedly kicking him as he crawls on the floor.
A female school employee is seen looking on at the attack. The employee is seen tapping the attacker on the shoulder, but he continues to kick Sekai as the employee does NOTHING.
According to KPRC, there were three school aides present during the attack.
The incident happened on Jan. 25, but Sekai’s grandmother decided to release the video to the public.
Sekai’s grandmother, who has custody of him since his parents died, told KHOU “Those adults in that video stood there. They did not attempt to help my child get up off the ground. They did not offer him any assistance. They didn’t even check to see if he was injured.”
According to a statement released by the school district on Friday, the three school aides have been fired.
