Avril Lavigne’s speech at the 2023 Juno Awards was interrupted by a topless protestor who made her way on stage.
The singer was trying to introduce a performance from Indo-Canadian musician AP Dhillon when the protestor ran on stage wearing just pink pants with pasties on.
She had words written on her back and “Save the Greenbelt” across her stomach in black. The protestor was referring to land in Ontario which was recently approved for residential development.
The ‘Sk8er Boy’ singer got through much of her speech, as the protestor walked around on stage. She was eventually escorted by a security guard.

As the protestor was taken away, Avril shouted “Get the f**k off, b***h.”
The singer later addressed the incident in her speech after winning the TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award. She said, “Now, nobody try anything this time. Or the Canadian will come out of me, and I’ll f**k a b***h up.”
Avril thanked her fans in a tweet and poked fun at the incident.
Thanks to my amazing fans for voting for the TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award. This is my 10th Juno Award and 4th Fan Choice Award. Let’s keep rocking and cheers to the next 20 years!
