A woman was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murdering her 3-month-old baby after the the child’s autopsy revealed that she overdosed on crystal meth.
Police arrested 31-year-old Autumn Blansett and charged her with second-degree murder, WWLTV reported.
According to investigators, police responded to Blansett’s home on the morning of Nov. 1 and found her 3-month-old daughter unresponsive.
The baby was pronounced dead at the Hospital, but an investigation didn’t reveal her cause of death until autopsy was conducted
The cause of death was listed as methamphetamine intoxication, and her death was ruled a homicide.
Blansett admitted to authorities that she had taken crystal meth and smoked Marijuana before she breastfed her daughter.
Autopsy results also showed Marijuana in her daughter’s system.
Police conducted a search warrant at Blansett’s home, finding small amounts of crystal meth and Marijuana.
