Babysitter charged with murder of 2-year-old girl

GEORGIA- A woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 2-year-old girl.

29-year-old Kirstie Flood is facing two counts of felony murder, counts of malice murder, cruelty to children in the 1st degree and aggravated battery.

According to WSBTV, police responded to a call about an unresponsive child at an apartment last Wednesday. When they arrived on the scene, they rushed the toddler, Fallon Fridley, to a Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Flood told the toddler’s mother that the girl had hit her head on a slide at a park, but doctors at the Hospital found that the girl’s injuries weren’t consistent with that kind of injury.

An autopsy revealed that the toddler had died from several severe injuries.

Police say that Flood had searched for “what does it mean to have a sudden urge to beat a child that’s not yours” and “what type of people enjoy abusing other people’s children” on her phone.

Flood, and Fridley’s mother were friends for several years.
