MICHIGAN (WOOD) – A woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of a child whom she supposed to care for.
Family members of Vayda Vasquez say that the suspect was the babysitter. The family says that the toddler was found dead on March 2nd, while under her care.
The suspect can’t be named because she hasn’t been arraigned yet.
Vayda’s death was ruled a homicide.
Vayda’s parents lost full custody of her a year before and she was given to her grandmother. The grandmother was the sole provider for the victim.
The grandmother says that the suspect was a longtime friend of the family.
The suspect now been charged with open murder, first-degree child abuse and felony murder.
