Bakepage.com has been seized by the F.B.I., the I.R.S, and the co-founder Michael Lacey was arrested on Friday. Michael Lacey, according The Republic said the charges were laid out to lacey in a 93 count sealed indictment. For many years parents and many child trafficking protesters have pleaded to have this site removed, as many have said that Mr.Lacey has been well aware of his pimping even though he has denied it. Some say he has exploited young woman by providing them a place to sell their bodies, which in a way people say, makes Lacey a “virtual pimp”. This is not a first time that the co-founder and the website itself has been to court. In 2016 California prosecutors charged Backpage’s chief executive, Lacey, and another co-founder whose name James Larkin with money laundering, California say that they had a cash flow coming in through sites and companies to avoid banking rules and continue to make money off of prostitution ads., but till this day they still claim to deny these charges.
