LAS VEGAS- A judge has denied bail for a teenager accused of killing her date during an alleged robbery.
Emma Kusak has been charged with open murder, robbery and grand larceny in connection to the fatal shooting of Charlie Satrustegui back in June at the Luxor Hotel & Casino, according to police, KVV-TV reports.
Kusak was booked into jail on her 18th birthday, July 26.
Authorities said Kusak told them she and Satrustegui had met on the dating app Bumble. After two months, the two agreed to meet up at his hotel room on June 28, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Kusak alleges that’s when Satrustegui showed her his gun, but she slept overnight at his room.
The following morning, Kusak said Satrustegui demanded that she leave his room, which began an argument, during which she believed “he was going to attack her,” the outlet reports.
She also told police that she became “desperate” as he was kicking her out and grabbed his gun to rob him. Police believe Kusak shot Satrustegui when he tried to disarm her.
Kusak is scheduled to appear back in court on Aug. 21, KVVU reports.
