Balenciaga has officially cut ties with Ye, after his recent antisemitic comments he tweeted.
The parent company of Balenciaga, Kering, released a statement which read:
“Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future plans for projects related to this artist.”
The clothing brand even took down a photo of the rapper that was on their site.
Ye performed at Balenciaga’s Summer 2023 show during Paris Fashion Week. In May, the Yeezy Gap engineered by Balenciaga Collection launched globally, their products included hoodies, t-shirts, caps and more.
Ye has been going on rants for the past several weeks, after disappearing from the spotlight and social media for a short amount of time. He appeared on Piers Morgan, where he admitted that his tweet about going “Death Con 3” on Jews was racist but laughed it off..
His Instagram and Twitter have been taken down, and others who have business ties with him are following suit.
