Battery Charges Filed Against Amar’e Stoudemire For Allegedly Hitting Daughter Dropped Due To Her Not Cooperating, Report

MIAMI- Battery charges against former Knicks player Amar’e Stoudemire have been dropped by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office on Tuesday, according to The Post.

The former Knicks player was arrested in December for allegedly punching and slapping one of his teen daughters, drawing blood, as I wrote before.

Stoudemire’s ex-wife Alexis went over to his condo in response to her daughter’s “plea for help”. He allegedly told his ex-wife that their daughter had been “disrespectful” and was giving him an “attitude”.

When officers arrived, they said he told them that she “received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar.”

Stoudemire told The Post:

“A little over a month ago, my family’s world was turned upside down as I faced allegations that we all knew to be untrue–which I instantly and publicly denied,” he said in a statement.

“I am appreciative of all respect and support received from family, friends and colleagues. Now that this chapter is closed, I look forward to all the great moments ahead with my family,” he added.

The states attorney’s office said, “the case was dropped due to the failure of the victim to cooperate in the prosecution of the criminal case.”
