Bishop Robbed Of $1 Million During Live Stream Sues Social Media Critics For $20 Million

NYC- A Brooklyn Bishop who was allegedly was robbed of $1 million during a live-stream of his sermon has filed two $20 million lawsuits against two social media “critics” for claiming he faked being robbed, according to Fox.

Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead, who is the founder of Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries, and his wife were robbed at gunpoint during a live-streamed sermon back in July.

The video, which went viral, showed two masked gunmen barging into the church and demanding their valuables. The three thieves took off with a $75,0000 Rolex and a $75,000 Cavalier watch.

Some have criticized the bishop for being “flashy”, by owning expensive cars, wearing high-end clothes and jewelry, even questioning if he faked the robbery for publicity to use for business purposes.

Whitehead filed the suits last week in King County Criminal Court against social media “commentators” Larry Reid and DeMario Q. Jives, alleging defamation, liber and slander, reports The Post.

Jives, a YouTuber with 80,000 subscribers, allegedly claimed in a video from August that Whitehead had been seen wearing the same jewelry he claimed was taken during the robbery and accused the bishop of “drug dealing” with gangs.

Whitehead has served time in prison for grand larceny and has identity theft convictions.

In the second suit, Whitehead claims that Reid, another social media personality, allegedly wrote that he scammed “people out of money” and predicted the bishop would be in jail within three months, reports The Post.

Jives told The Post “I’m a commentator”, speaking on the suit. “I give commentary on religion, politics, public figures, everything… We make a lot of jokes, especially about this particular situation, because this guy is a joke. So for him to try to even file something is egregious.”

Whitehead’s lawyer told The Post, ” The defamatory statements that are being made are affecting the bishop’s business and church and professional duties, so he’s going to very aggressively hold those people accountable that are behind it.” “This is the beginning of the process of dealing with those actors maliciously stating falsehoods about the bishop.”
