Bodies of 11 infants found inside ceiling of a funeral home

The bodies of 11 infants have been found in a dropped ceiling of a Detroit funeral home.

The bodies were discovered on Friday, most of them wrapped inside of plastic bags with some placed in one cardboard box and some in a small coffin. The discovery was made after someone tipped off (LARA) which stands for Michigan Department of Licensing And Regulatory Affairs.

The letter described exactly where the bodies of the infants could be found.

Detroit Police Department Lt. Brian Bowser said that some of the infants have been identified.

According to Detroit’s WXYZ, the Cantrell Funeral Home was shut down back in April due to numerous violations that they called “disturbing”. Some of the violations included fraud, improper storage of embalmed bodies, one of the bodies was reported as “advanced stage of decomposition”, deceit, peeling paint, gross negligence in the practice of mortuary science and more.

Detroit authorities say that they are now conducting an investigation.
