THE BRONX- The body of a man found dumped outside of a Bronx sheet-metal manufacturing factory on Monday has been identified as actor Frank Vallelonga Jr.
The 60-year-old actor was known for his role the 2018 movie Green Book and for a small role on the Sopranos, according to Deadline.
Police say they responded to a 911 about an unconscious male early Monday morning. After arriving on the scene, police “observed” an adult male that was unconscious and unresponsive with no signs of trauma, The New York Post reported.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMT’s.
The Post is reporting that the actor died from a drug-overdose, according to police sources.
His family says Vallelonga died on Nov. 28.
Steven Smith, 35, was arrested and charged with concealment of a human corpse in connection to Vallelonga’s death.
Vallelonga Jr. played a relative of Viggo Mortensen’s bouncer character Frank “Tony Lip” in Green Book, which won Best Picture at the Oscar’s. Vallelonga Jr. was the real-life son of the bouncer portrayed in the movie. Vallelonga Sr. died in 2013.
