San Antonio, Texas — A body has been found in the search for a missing 8-month-old boy.
Police have found the body of 8-month-old- King Jay Davila wrapped inside of a blanket and buried in a backpack that was found in a grassy area on the San Antonio’s Northeast side.
Court documents say that the baby’s father, 34-year-old Christopher Davila, led police to a the burial site, that was located in a grassy area at a dead end street. That burial site happens to be just less than half a mile from Davila’s residence.
According to Davila’s arrest affidavit, he told police he was playing video games on Jan. 3rd, while King Jay was in a car seat on a bed in his room. He said at some point, the car seat had fell over, and that the King Jay had fell to the floor. Davila said that the baby may have hit his head on dresser as he fell to the floor.
He has been charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury by omission, which is a first-degree felony, drug possession, felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence. His bail has been set at $1.25 million.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus say the grandmother and King Jay Davila’s cousin have also been charged. They’re believed to have tampered with evidence.
The cousin is allegedly seen on video participating in a fake kidnapping. She’s seen walking to a car, and then walking what police believe a fake car seat that was supposed to have King Jay Davila inside.
