Body Of Pregnant Woman Pulled From Chicago River; 4th Body In One Week

CHICAGO- The body of a pregnant woman was pulled from the Chicago waterways, making this the fourth body to be found in the waters in just one week.

Police discovered the woman’s body in the Chicago River on Friday, reports Fox 32 Chicago.

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene by authorities. She was later identified as 31-year-old Karina Peña Alanís, according to Fox 32 Chicago.

Alanís was last seen two weeks ago on the 4300 block of South Wood Street. She was reported missing on April 9. Her family told WGN-TV Chicago that she was 7 months pregnant.

On April 16, the body of Yuet Tsang, 80, was recovered in a different part of the river.

On the same day, the body of another woman was found recovered from the Chicago River.

Another body, an unidentified male, was recovered from the river on Sunday.
