Bond Set At $160,000 For Singer Sean Kingston’s Mother After Raid And Arrest For Fraud

MIAMI – A judge has set a bond for Singer Sean Kingston’s mother after she was arrested Thursday, according to a report.

Janice Turner appeared in front of a judge Friday for a bond hearing, CBS Miami reports.

The singer’s mother is facing eight charges.

Prosecutor Eric Linder told the judge that Turner has a history of fraud, and in 2005 was convicted of bank fraud, and served 16 months in prison.

Her attorney argued that Turner doesn’t pose a threat to the community and her charge is a non-violent crime.

The judge kept Turner’s bond at $160,000. Her attorney will have to prove that her bond money is legitimate.

Kingston was arrested without incident on a Florida warrant in San Bernardino County Thursday. His arrest came hours after his detectives arrested his mother, Janice Turner, during the raid on his home in Fort Lauderdale.

The singer took to his Instagram story Thursday before he was arrested, saying “People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother!.. My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

The raids and arrests were connected to a lawsuit filed against Kingston for allegedly not paying for luxury items that included watches, a custom-made bed and a TV.
