A smuggler attempting to cross the Mexico-US border with meth disguised as onions was busted by agents.
1,197 packages of methamphetamines were found packed among real onions in the back of a tractor-trailer. The meth weighed 1,336 pounds and was valued at $2.9 million, reports New York Post.
The meth was discovered by K9 units at the Otay Mesa border crossing between Tijuana and San Diego.
The unidentified 36-year-old driver was arrested and taken and handed over to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
