PUERTO RICO- Felix Verdejo has been charged in the death of his pregnant girlfriend, after surrendering to on Sunday.
According to news outlets in Puerto Rico, Verdejo, 27, was charged with kidnapping resulting in the death of an unborn child and kidnapping, in the death of his girlfriend, Keishla Rodriguez Ortiz.
Oriz was reported missing by her family on Thursday. She had reportedly went to confront Verdejo about her pregnancy.
Verdejo allegedly reached out to his accomplainace, and asked for help in killing Ortiz.
The FBI says that Verdejo met Rodriguez at her home, and got inside of her . Once inside, Verdejo allegedly punched Ortiz in her face, before injecting her with a “syringe filled with substances purchased from a drug point in Llorens Torres”, NBC reports.
Verdejo and his accomplice then tied Ortiz up with wire, tied her to a block, and then dumped her body over a bridge. .
The then shot Ortiz from the bridge to make sure that she was dead.
Her body was found on Saturday.
Verdejo could face the death penalty if convicted.
