Man charged for brutally murdering girlfriend dies in jail after 2 weeks

WASHINGTON- A man who was arrested by police after he brutally murdered his girlfriend, has died in jail.

Sean Howell died in jail after he was being transferred. According to prison officers, Howell began to resist and suddenly went into a medical crisis.

On May 8th, police responded to a call and once inside of the residence, they discovered the body of Sabrina Olson-Smith.

Smith had multiple stab wounds all over her body and blunt force trauma to her head.

Smith’s boyfriend Sean Howell allegedly told police at the scene “I’m just sad I killed my girlfriend.”

Howell told investigator’s that both him and Smith were smoking Marijuana, which he thinks was laced with crack. He then told police that he allegedly awoke to find his girlfriend on top of him with a knife, threatening to kill him.

Howell has been charged with first-degree murder, and his bond has been set at $5 million.
