LAS VEGAS- The body of a missing 2-year-old boy was found on Wednesday, a day after his mother’s boyfriend was charged with his death.
Police arrested Terrell Rhodes, 27, Tuesday. His arrest comes 6 days after Amari Nicholson vanished. The toddler was last seen alive on May 5, police say.
Amari’s body was recovered Wednesday, a block down from the hotel where he went missing from.
Rhodes even helped in attempting to find Amari, appearing on television, as his girlfriend pleaded for son’s safe return.
Rhodes told police that the toddler’s aunt had stopped by, taking the 2-year-old, but police found that story to be untrue. Amari was in Rhodes’ care as the boy’s mother was running errands.
Police say that Rhodes was able to get ahold of an arresting officer, after he he put a fight up during his arrest.
Rhodes has been charged with open murder.
