SOUTH CAROLINA- Two boys, ages 8 and 9, have been charged in the shooting death of a man.
Danny Andrew Smith, 62, was fatally shot as he was driving his tractor near a field, according to local news outlets.
Smith was found slumped over in his tractor, after he lost control, drove into the woods over an embankment and ended up crashing into a tree.
The minors, 8 and 9, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
“We believe that both juvenile males discharged a firearm in a reckless manner in the direction of Mr. Smith who was bush hogging on some family property,” Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said.
Smith was shot with a shotgun.
