LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY- The family of Breonna Taylor, has received a $12 million settlement from the city of Louisville, after Taylor was killed by police officer’s while unarmed.
The city came to the settlement, after Taylor’s family sued them in a wrongful death lawsuit.
This is the largest settlement the city has dished out in a police misconduct suit.
Taylor, 26, an EMT, was shot and killed in her apartment on March 13th, by police officer’s while she was asleep, as they were serving a “no-knock” warrant.
Authorities believed that Taylor’s boyfriend at the time, was using the apartment to stash drugs and money, but there were never any narcotics found at the home.
The officer’s who killed Taylor, are still free, and haven’t been charged for her death.
