Bronx Building Partially Collapses, Search For Potential Victims

THE BRONX, NYC – A building partially collapsed in The Bronx Monday night.

The six-story residential building located at 1915 Billingsley Terrace Morris Heights partially collapsed around 3:30 p.m., according to FDNY.

Video from the scene shows several stories of the building exposed and debris in the street below.

The FDNY searched for hours for potential victims in the rubble but did not find anyone by late Monday night, officials said. There were two civilians who suffered minor injuries while evacuating, according to authorities.

Some people reportedly evacuated the building after hearing strange loud cracking noises.

Thirty-one households, including 100 people were displaced by the collapse, according to the Red Cross.

Officials said the building, built in 1927 had over 100 violations, with seven open violations.

There is an ongoing investigation into the collapse.
