THE BRONX- A teenage Drill rapper was fatally shot by 5 masked gunmen last weekend over lyrics to his song, according to police.
Jordany Aracena, 17, was on Beekman Ave and E. 141st in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx when someone opened fire around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, striking him in the chest.
Police say he received a call and was lured to his death.
Aracena may have been targeted for the content in one of his songs, even though it’s unclear if any of the 5 suspects were named, a police source said, reports The New York Daily News.
Aracena, an inspiring Drill rapper, allegedly mentioned the names of deceased gang members and other drill rappers in his song.
The rapper’s mother told The Daily News she believes Aracena was killed in a robbery that went wrong, not because of his lyrics.
He was taken to Lincoln hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There have been no arrests made.
