Brooklyn McDonald’s Worker Shot Over Fries Dies, Suspect’s Charges Upgraded

BROOKLYN- A McDonald’s employee who was shot in the neck earlier this week has died, police say.

Matthew Webb, 23, died after he was shot Monday outside of a Bedford-Stuyvesant McDonald’s where he was working.

Police say the attack is now a homicide.

Michael Morgan, 20, was initially charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

Charges against Morgan have now been upgraded to homicide charges, authorities said.

Webb was working at the fast-food restaurant when Morgan’s mother began complaining about her fries being cold and asked to speak to a manager.

The woman was on Facetime when Morgan overheard the employees laughing at her, which made him upset. Morgan went to the McDonald’s and got into a physical altercation with Webb.

The fight spilled outside where Morgan allegedly shot Webb in his neck.

Morgan was also charged with murder after admitting to killing a man while being questioned about Webb’s death. He allegedly killed Kevin Holloman in October of 2021.

The suspect’s girlfriend was charged with weapons possession for allegedly giving Morgan the gun.
