COLORADO- A bus has been fired from his job and is facing charges for slapping a 10-year-old girl on his bus who allegedly refused to wear a mask.
Bertram Jaquez was seen on surveillance footage, obtained by KKTV, telling the young boy to cover his face with the mask that was under his chin. The boy told Jaquez “I don’t care” before he slapped her face.
“Out of reaction, I slapped her once,” Jaquez said in a written statement.
Jaquez is facing charges of assault causing injury, child abuse and harassment. All of the charges are misdemeanors.
